The innermost depths. The very bottom.
Okusoko is the word Japanese uses for the deepest part of a thing — 心の奥底, kokoro no okusoko, the depths of the heart; 海の奥底, the floor of the sea. Where something really is, once you have gone past everything on the surface.
oh · koo · soh · koh. Japanese gives every syllable the same weight — no stress, no syllable louder than its neighbors. Say it flat and level, one even step at a time, the way you would sound a depth. (Not “oku-SOH-ko”; the vowels are short and pure — koo as in cool cut short, never cow.)

Put together, 奥 and 底 stop describing a place and start describing a direction: past the interior, all the way down, until there is nothing further beneath. English has the same instinct in one idiom — to get to the bottom of it.
Never accept an answer from a level you haven't verified. Go down until you reach something that cannot move — then stand on it.
Research is the act of going down.
A search engine works the surface: what is most linked, most recent, most repeated. An investigation is the opposite motion. Every instrument in the harness is a way of going one layer further down than the last.
A claim is a quote and a byte range in a snapshot that can never change. The harness checks it by code before it will call it evidence. That is the floor: the bottom you can stand on.
Twelve outlets printing one wire story are one source. Corroboration counts what lies underneath the tellings — independent lineages — not how many places repeated them.
Set a horizon and everything published after it goes dark. Ask what was knowable at the bottom of 1979, not what looks obvious from the surface of now.
An account can grow louder for thirty years while nothing new arrives beneath it. Drift measures the wording against the evidence and says so.
Every third cycle the pattern loop stops reading claims one at a time and reads the whole record for structure — clusters, co-occurrence, gaps, contradictions — the sediment a single question can't see.
An answer that comes from the surface is an opinion with good lighting. An answer from the 奥底 is one you can hand to someone else — with the byte range — and they can check it themselves.
